The Pinnacle of Office Park Crits in the Northeast
Office park criteriums are the heart and soul of amateur bike racing. Internet meme pages may poke fun at the “state of road cycling” these days, and indeed there aren’t as many events compared to the heyday of the early 2000’s and 2010’s, but it seems as though it’s back on the rise post-pandemic.
Wells Ave is an office park in Newton with a 0.8mi loop with no real corners and a wide, fast finishing straightaway. Great for our big boys™ who love to win from the break and from the field sprint. The race itself has been around since 1981 in some shape or form, and has adopted a weekly training race format over the years. We’ve had great success over the many years we’ve raced here (almost weekly), and we’re back for the summer series where there’s some money on the line. Stay tuned for weekly updates.

Update from Dan:
“The 1/2/3 field had a lot of teams all with 2-3 riders, so everyone wanted a break but nothing was sticking. I raced like an idiot, gassing myself trying to cover too many moves in the first 40 minutes. with 6 laps to go, the winning break succeeded and I missed it. I ended up with 2nd in the field sprint, 8th overall. The epitome of a training race this week, better luck next week!”
